I don’t tend to write very many ‘lifestyle’ posts on here anymore so I thought I would jump right back into them with a cheeky little Wonderful Wednesday post! It’s always good to focus on the positive things in life, especially when there is so much change occurring in mine right now!
Rearranging my bedroom
Now I have the house to myself I have started to make it feel more like mine. I am picking a room at a time and making it feel all lovely and cosy. I have started off with my bedroom, buying new bed linen, some throws and a new lamp. I also treated myself to a mirror and print for the wall. Let’s just say TK Maxx has been a god send, and sprucing up the place hasn’t been too expensive.
Lately I have found myself really getting into audio books, I was always a bit skeptical of them, mainly because I thought I would zone out and not be able to pay attention them properly. In the last few weeks though I have been powering through quite a few of them. I specially love non-fiction books narrated by the author and I am currently listening to Hillary Clinton’s latest book which I am really enjoying.
Now that autumn is upon us I have gone back to eating warm and comforting food. This means I start the day with a delicious bowl of porridge, instead of a smoothie which I favour in the summer months. It certainly makes the colder mornings easier to deal with!
I attended my friends wedding this weekend which was just lovely. I just love weddings, they give me an excuse to get all dressed up and I get to spend the day hanging out with friends. I of course drank too much wine but it was still fun!
Guys! It is really starting to feel like autumn now, don’t you think? I bloody love autumn (like every other person in blogland), it’s a time for cosy knits, candles and hot chocolates. This last week has been especially nice as the temperature has dropped a bit and I have even been enjoying the rain, unless I am outside and get caught in it of course!
I took a few days off work last week because I wasn’t feeling well and was struggling to find a TV show to keep my from dying of boredom. That was until I found Tin Star which is so good! It’s a new show on Sky and I literally watched the entire thing in two days and was genuinely obsessed with it. It takes a lot for me to get that engrossed in a show but this was so great I have been recommending it to everyone. Have you watched it yet?
During the first half of the month I wasn’t really cooking much, and I began to feel like shit because a girl cannot live on pizza alone! This week however, I have been making an effort to eat more home cooked meals and as a result I am starting to feel so much better already! I still think I could do with getting more fruit and veg in but hey it’s a start! I am also enjoying the actual act of cooking, usually it stresses my out because I find I am missing ingredients or I just make a big old mess but there is something satisfying about making a meal from scratch.
Last but by no means least, getting back into blogging has really helped lift me mood and give me a bit of distraction lately. I think I have gone from not blogging in nearly two months to suddenly posting everyday this week! I am not sure I will be able to keep that pace up but I hope I can properly get back into it and start feeling like part of the community once again!
