Weekend Scenes || A Botanical Adventure

This weekend has been wonderfully chilled. On Saturday I decided to pop through to Sheffield to visit the Botanical Gardens. As the weather has taken a turn for the better I thought what better way to pass an afternoon than strolling through the gardens admiring all the pretty plants and flowers. I took the train into Sheffield and then walked to the gardens. I looked slightly ridiculous as I was wearing my knew Zara knitted jumper which was completely unnecessary due to the fact it was about 23 degrees, and to say I was melting is an understatement! Oh well, I never have been any good at dressing appropriately for the weather!

Despite the above average temperature for this time of year, walking around the gardens gave me all of the autumnal feels. All the leaves on the trees are turning golden and there was that crispness in the air that only comes with the colder months. After visiting the gardens I headed back into to town to have a look for some bits and pieces I needed for my house and even decided to take a trip to the new IKEA which recently opened. I off course had to treat myself to meatballs, it would have been rude not to! I didn’t buy too much though, just a few picture frames so I could frame some artwork I picked up in Lisbon. I really wanted to buy a couple of large houseplants but I didn’t fancy trying to get them home on the train!

Sunday was spent putting together a little gallery wall in my conservatory come dining room or prints I have picked up from my travels. I also popped into town for a coffee and ended up going to TK Maxx where I bought too many candles and photos frames. Mainly though I just stayed in editing photo’s, drinking tea and doing a spot of reading (I just started The Kite Runner and I’m engrossed already). I also cooked a rather delicious dinner thanks to Gousto. I have been ordering my meals through them lately as otherwise I would probably never cook for myself. I love that I know I have all of the ingredients I need on hand and they have so many recipes to choose from!

So not a particularly eventful weekend but lovely just the same. What did you get up to? Let me know below!

I love quiet weekends like this but I don’t feel I get enough of them! I do feel I’ve had a productive weekend this week though.
Yesterday I made some cookies in the morning before heading to work for the afternoon. I had a quiet night in because I was just exhausted so I had a little pamper and watched a couple shows on Netflix.
Today, I did a bunch of housework, cleaned (the inside of) my car, went to the gym for a couple hours, visited my boyfriend, James’ nan, popped into to see my mum and stepdad because it’s her birthday today and then James and I came back to mine for dinner and started watching The Good Place on Netflix.
Hope you have a nice week!

I wore a sweater Saturday and melted as well. Never dressed appropriately!
